Welcome!
Edit
Great! I was trying to get in contact with you as soon as I finished basic starting. As you can tell, currently I am basically just working on copying over our stuff from Nascar Wikiproject, and trying to dual-contribute to some of the articles to be written at our Wikiproject. If you feel up to it, you'll notice I am now trying to do race-by-race reports for each race.
For example, a full article will look like
2006 Stonebridgeracing.com 200
Right now, however, if you choose you can writ stubs for other seasons (since I've seen you're working on Seasons in NASCAR) similiar what I did for 2004 Busch Series races, similiar to this format
Updating
Edit
I am going to work at a summer camp for the majority of the summer. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to update the main page for a few weekends. Thanks
Looking for Ideas
Edit
Hey, D-Day. This is the NASCAT again. I'm back from my summer job and hope you enjoyed your fishing. My struggle right now is to promote the site more. I have added it to many sites and looking for ideas. Any? --DaNASCAT 15:53, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Succession Boxes
Edit
This time, I really don't have a clue how to run a succession box. I copied templates from Wikipedia, but when I try to copy articles, like Jeff Gordon's, I had problems with the templates being accepted and got some weird mess. If you could figure out my problem and maybe give me an easy way to do them, it would be greatly appreciated. For example, not only do we need them for champions, but we need them for races. (i.e. 1988 Miller Classic succeeded by 1988 Country Squire 200. Thanks so much. Tried getting some notice for the site through message boards. Feedback is very positive. --DaNASCAT 17:59, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- HA! Fixed them myself. Don't ask about my silly error.
Bylaws
Edit
Yeah, I've been working on a couple. Basically, I just want to make sure that people.
A) Have an external link to validate their "facts"
B) That articles are NPOV. If this means protecting pages, like Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon due to vandilous opinions, so be it.
C) All photos uploaded must have some sort of tag or description or it will be deleted.
D) All NASCAR drivers are fair game to write about, sponsors, tracks. Doesn't matter if the driver had one start or 521. It works.
Feel free to add anything and thanks for the help. You are probably more familiar with these sorts of things, as mainly I just write articles. --DaNASCAT 19:12, 5 August 2006 (UTC) Do me a favor, and please send them to me when you are ready. However, feel free to post them as soon as possible. Trust you enough to do that. Thans, again.
- Once again, an awesome job. Could not of done it better myself. Thanks.
Main Page
Edit
Rearranged the front page a bit and needing your advice. I think it looks ok as it is, but I really wanted to change the Did You Know box to one similar one to those of Recent Races. However, if I create that box it gives that stupid Contents list on the first box...and I really don't want that? Any work around or is it as good as it gets? -daNASCAT
Projects
Edit
Hey, I've created two NASCAR project pages. First, NASCARWiki:ProjectUpdateDriver and the NASCARWiki:ProjectRaceKnowledge needs to be written. Could you help me make it look more professional. I'm not great with these things. --Tim
- RaceKnowledge would just be to list all the stubs that are race articles. For example, the 1988 Country Squire 200 needs to be expanded. So in addition to the stub, it gets a RaceKnowledge inclusion. Once the stub is completed, it is added to the finished list (the Project should both have a completed list and finish list) and the template is removed from the talk page. Thanks. --DaNASCAT-Tim
WOO HOO!!!
Edit
First vandalism. Is that a good sign? ha. -daNASCAT. Seriously, glad we're getting the extra exposure.
- hahah. Doubt the "person" cares about whether its a month, one year or eternity. Just a number. As for IPs, the best thing we can do is that evertyime we check our site, to go back to Related Changes and track to the last time that one of us updated our pages.-daNASCAT
Re:Truck Photos
Edit
Whew. Thanks. I was going to get to that .... eventually. (ha) If you could create a template with what they want, that would be great. -daNASCAT
Template:TeamBox
Edit
I encourage you to look at this template, and see what you think about it. An example can be found at Kevin Harvick Incorporated's bottom --User:daNASCAT
- Well, I'm sticking to one for every team, because I think it would be good for a table or chart we could do on the teams in the future. Besides, it'd get a bit crammed at Roush Racing. ha. -User:daNASCAT
Re:NUMBERS
Edit
Oh, it's rather simple. I find a really good image at NBSRacing.com or Jayski.com or whatever. I just need to have a real up-close shot of the car. I use Photo Editor to highlight [select] the number and paste it as a new image. --User:daNASCAT
Project:Drivers
Edit
If you go to our To-Do list, you'll see the new project trying to ensure that every driver is listed. If you could help me out and add the internal links from this bumbled mess, that would be appreciated. Also, if any driver makes one of the three series, their name should be added to the list. -User:daNASCAT
Yo
Edit
Yo, D-day... How come the List of NASCAR drivers isn't working too well? You see, I want to create alot of pages, and that ain't helping me any. Think ya can look at it? Oh, yeah, when you respond on my talk page always, ALWAYS, call me Adi. Adi G. 20:41, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Re:List of Teams
Edit
Problems fixed to the best of my abilities right now. I might go back and make it look a bit better, but yes, this looks ten times better now. -daNASCAT
Being Witty
Edit
As you can tell by this lovely new template, this is our new stub!! Woo hoo!
I want our templates to be original like the other Wikis, so if you can think of some relevant, witty NASCAR templates to replace basic, boring ones that would be good.
- Oh, no man. Feel free to give them the black flag and all necessary suspensions. -The real admin...ha
The New Generation of Charts
Edit
If you would like to view the revamped chart on 2006 Emerson Radio 250, you can see I've mastered color coding records.
Yellow is Cup, Green is Cup-Busch, Blue is Busch
This format can be used for Craftsman Truck Series races as well as the old Busch-Busch North and Winston-Cup and Winston-West events.
Also, I may be able to fix our List of NASCAR teams to look nicer now. I'll get to work on that.

Re:Account Issue
Edit
I tried deleting his User page out of existance, but if that doesn't work, he'll just have to get a new account. Sorry. --Tim
registration
Edit
Which account were you talking about for registering with an email? Technogreek44 23:38, 17 December 2006 (UTC) Sorry but no I did not Technogreek44 23:29, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
You Might Like to Know
Edit
- I'm going to begin getting some basic stuff up on the Busch East Series, since we are covering the NASCAR Touring Series. We may do races, but at least we will cover the top ten drivers (same for West)
- In order to have results available at a click instead of sorting through the entire expanded article, I've added Template:ResultClick for going straight to a result page.
Ex. 2006 Emerson Radio 250
- UPDATE: I also added a new front page. Tell me what you think.
Thanks for the welcome
Edit
I see User:DaNASCAT did some editing on the Guidelines, Policies, and Bylaws. I'm going to leave some comments of the page's talk page on some further changes that I think should be done.
I hope that you don't mind, but I spell-checked and copyedited the welcome template.
Here are some other suggestions for Wiki NASCAR:
- You should add your own favicon. The NASCAR logo, unfortunately, is too short and long to make a good favicon, but a side-view silhouette of a NASCAR car would probably look good.
- The info that is currently at NASCAR on Wiki:Community Portal should be moved to Current events, because it is news on NASCAR. The Community Portal should then be used as an area for Wiki NASCAR editors to communicate with each other about various general issues with the wiki.
- Here's a suggestion that I think all the Wikia wikis should adopt. Where you have a redlink, such as for Scottish Rite on the Main Page, it is almost too easy to create an interwiki link to the appropriate Wikipedia article at Wikipedia:Scottish Rite. Unfortunately, the link looks like an internal Wiki NASCAR link. You should create a template for the Wikipedia links that makes them show up in green (or some color other than blue, purple, or red) so people will know that they aren't a link to a Wiki NASCAR article (e.g. Scottish Rite).
- At NASCAR on Wiki:Privacy policy, you need to change "Wikipedia" to "Wiki NASCAR" and "Wikimedia" and "Wikimedia Foundation" to "Wikia". You might also check to see if there are other specifics on the Wikia Privacy policies at http://central.wikia.com. Also, Wikipedia specific sections, such as "Information email addresses" need to be completely rewritten.
- The NASCAR on Wiki:Manual of Style also has some Wikipedia specific info that needs to be rewritten or deleted. Then you should create specific guidelines for articles on drivers, teams, races, sponsors, etc.
- You need to create some sort of guide(s) to Wiki Nascar content, similar to Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Contents and Wikipedia:Wikipedia:Categorical index.
Good luck. BlankVerse 02:11, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

User List
Edit
I just looked at the User List and I'm concerned that there are many, many names on there. How can we delete all of them? How can we stop them from doing it again? -DarthDoc66
Try this link. Notice some of the User Names are suggesting they did it to annoy us and are inappropriate. [[[[1]]]]

Edit
I've added some information to my Dads Wiki page but I'm not sure how to edit his year of death (1988) or add a picture. Can you help ?
