Randy Nelson
From The Third Turn, a Wikia wiki
Randy Nelson is a former NASCAR driver from El Cajon, CA. He competed in eight Craftsman Truck Series events in his career.
Nelson's debut came in 1997, when he competed at Colorado. Starting 27th in the Core Motorsports truck, Nelson completed all but six laps to record a respectable 25th place finish. He was unable to better that later in the year, losing his rear end gear to finish last (34th) at Infineon.
Nelson's busiest year would come in 1998, when he finished 41st in points. His finishes, however, turned out to be rather mediocre. Despite managing to be running at the end of every race that year (no DNFs), Nelson failed to crack the top-twenty. He finished just about the same in every race: a career and season-best 23rd place finish at Evergreen and just a season-worst finish of 27th at Bristol, with the other finishes sprinkled in between.
Nelson's final career event came in 1999, when he compted for MB Motorsports at Homestead-Miami. Starting 27th in the field of thirty-four, Nelson lasted just fifteen laps before engine failure doomed him to 30th.
