Possum Jones

From The Third Turn, a Wikia wiki

Possum Jones, born January 16, 1932 is a former NASCAR driver from Mango, FL. He competed in forty-seven Sprint Cup Series events in his career, all spanning from 1952 to 1965.

Jones never won a race and never made a run at a full season, only earning a career-best 31st in points in the 1960 season. However, Jones managed to earn five top-fives, thirteen top-tens and one pole in his career. His best career finish in a race was runner-up slot, which he achieve three tantalizing times in 1960: Weaverville, Hickory and South Boston. Yet his pole came in 1958, when he started first at Columbia Speedway.

Yet after 1960, Jones would only earn one more top-ten in his career before retiring after the 1965 season.
