North Wilkesboro Speedway was a former NASCAR race track. It is a short track located in North Wikesboro North Carolina. It started in the Strickly Stock series in 1949, the first winner of this event was Bob Flock. The last race was held in 1996 with Jeff Gordon winning it. This was a 250 mile race in NASCAR. It held 93 races. Busch Series has also race at this track along with Craftsman Truck Series. it is also a .625 oval. There has been four races in the Nationwide Series, and two races in the Craftsman Truck Series. Terry Labonte set the fastest pole in 1994 of a 119.016 mph, and the fastest race speed was set in 1992 by Geoffrey Bodine with a speed of 107.360 mph.Chevrolet has won 30 of the 93 races held at North Wilkesboro. The farthest back anybody ever won from is the 20th spot by Brett Bodine. The highest winning purse was $932,895 by Terry Labonte in 1996. The most amount of cautions was 17 in 1991 with Darrell Waltrip winning that race.

Busch Series History Edit

North Wilkesboro held the first Busch Series race in 1983 with Sam Ard winning that race. Then the last race was held on September of 1985 with Jack Ingram winning it. Tommy Houston has the pole record for Busch with a 117.206 st on 1985.



Craftsman Truck Series History Edit

They only have two starts on this .625 mile circuit. Both won by Fords, one by Mark Martin, and one by Mike Bliss. Johnny Benson has the record for the pole with a 116.064 mph.
