Johnny Borneman (also referred to as John Borneman, III) (January 30, 1977 - ) is a West Series and part-time Nationwide Series driver from Ramona, CA. In his major NASCAR career, Borneman has seven Nationwide Series starts and one Craftsman Truck Series start.

Nationwide SeriesEdit

Borneman's first Busch start came in 2004, when he raced for Team Rensi Motorsports at Nashville. Starting 28th in the field of forty-three, Borneman was racing well until brake problems ended his night early and left him 30th.

He did not return until the later part of the 2007 season, competing for the first time at his home track of California Speedway. It was a rough return for the driver, starting last (42nd) and finishing there after a blown engine.

In 2008, he returned to California, hoping for better results by running a car provided by his usual and successful West Series team. Although starting last (42nd), Borneman had run his way into the top-25 but a late suspension day finalized him to be 29th.

He competed part-time in the Series in 2009. He made a start at Talladega in 2010 and avoided a huge wreck on the final lap to achieve a career best 5th place. He was interviewed on ESPN during the post-race and said "this is the best day of my life".

Craftsman Truck SeriesEdit

Borneman also made a one-off race in the CTS, competing at Texas in 2003. Starting 31st in the field of thirty-six, Borneman fell some eleven laps down in the race in route to a 23rd place effort.
