Jim Mayes is a former NASCAR driver from Princeton, IN. He competed in two Nextel Cup Series events in his career.

Mayes debuted in 1951, when he competed in an event at Dayton. Starting positions in the field of thirty-one are unknown, but Mayes drove a solid race and wound up with a respectable 13th place showing.

Unfortunately, Mayes didn't fare so well in his other race, competing at the famed Daytona Beach Road Course in 1952. Starting 12th in the field of sixty-one, Mayes fell a few laps down and wound up with a midpack 34th place finish in his final event.
