Diane Teel is a former NASCAR driver from Seaford, VA. In her career, she competed in eleven Nationwide Series events and earned two top-tens. She was the first female driver in series history.
Teel's debut came in 1982, when she competed at Martinsville. Starting positions in the field of forty are unknown, but Teel kept out of trouble for the most part and finished 26th. She improved quite a bit as the season wore on, adding up finishes of 15th at Richmond and 8th at Langley.
Teel's next five races came during the 1983 season, which turned out to be a solid year for the driver. She quickly tacked up her second and final career top-ten, finishing 10th at Martinsville. After that, she still finished in the top-twenty in each and every outing that year, also enjoying finishes of 12th at Martinsville and 15th at Langley. She finished the year 40th in points.
Teel stepped it down to a one-race schedule during the 1984 tour, competing solely at Martinsville. Starting 21st in the field of thirty-two, Teel had early overheating woes and finished 31st.
Finally, Teel made her career finale at Langley during the 1986 season. However, she once again struggled, falling fourteen laps down and finishing a disappointing 21st.
