Colorado National Speedway
From The Third Turn, a Wikia wiki
Colorado National Speedway is a 3/8-mile track located in Dacono, CO. It is currently under NASCAR sanction and is the only track in Colorado to be under sanction. It is one of Colorado's most notable tracks, as it is just one of two CO facilties to host a NASCAR national series event. The track hosted the Craftsman Truck Series during the early years of its inception and holds the record for the closest finish in series history after Butch Miller edged Mike Skinner for the win in 1995.
Today, the only NASCAR Touring Series it hosts is the Camping World West Series, which will make its seventh visit to the facility in 2009. It has also hosted the defunct Southwest Series and Midwest Series Elite Divisions. The Southwest Series raced at the facility 20 times, three of which were combination events with the Midwest Series. The Midwest Series, including those three, ran nine times at the facility.
It participates in the Whelen All-American Series and will be the sole decider of the Colorado crown in 2009. The 2009 season will also mark the track's 65th year of competition.
