[edit] NASCAR Career
[edit] Sprint Cup
In 2006 Chaffin drove the #61 Raodloans Ford for Front Row Motorsports in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series. He was battling for the Rookie of the Year Award. He began the season in the #34 Chevrolet. In 2007 Chaffin attempted to co-drive with Bill Elliott for RJ Racing's #37. But the team was bought out by Front Row Motorsports and is currently sponsored by Huddle House.
[edit] Nationwide Series
His NASCAR career began in a 1993 Busch Series race at Rockingham. He was a regular in Busch from 1999 to 2002. He has one career Top 10 finish in over 80 starts. For 2006, Chaffin was scheduled to drive at least 15 races for Front Row Motorsports in the #228 Xtreme Gel/Advil Chevrolet. But he only actually drove in 3 races. Two of those races were for Wayne Day and the other race for Earl Sadler.
[edit] Craftsman Truck Series
From 2003 to 2005 he was a regular in the Craftsman Truck Series. He had two wins in 2004 (Dover International Speedway and Indianapolis Raceway Park). In his career, he has had 2 poles, 11 Top 5, and 26 Top 10 finishes in his first 79 starts. He finished a career best 10th in the final points standings in 2003 and 2004. He ran a 21 of 25 events in 2005 between three teams. For 2006, he was scheduled to drive the #40 Chevrolets for Key Motorsports in the opening races of the season. But Chaffin ended running only 2 races with the team and then moved to HT Motorsports and remained in the ride for the rest of the season.
