Before NASCAR, "Bullet Bob" was Nashville's first big racing star. In 1957 he set a world speed record on the Daytona Beach Course that still stands today. In 1958 he won the first ever track championship at Fairgrounds Speedway

NASCAR CareerEdit

Reuther's Cup debut came in 1951, when he competed at Atlanta. Starting positions in the field of thirty-one are unknown, but Reuther struggled in the race to a 29th place finish.

Reuther's next Cup race waited until 1959 to happen, but the Nashville race was worth the wait for the driver. Starting 11th in the field of thirty, Reuther managed to survive the short track by completing all but sixteen laps in route to a career-best 9th place finish.

Reuther's final start came in 1960, when he competed again at his home track of Nashville. Reuther had a respectable race, starting and finishing 14th despite losing a rear end gear late in the event.
