Al Pombo is a former NASCAR driver from Fresno, CA. He competed in three NASCAR Grand National Series events in his career.
Pombo's debut came in 1956, when he competed at Merced. Starting 14th in the field of twenty-eight, Pombo was caught up in a crash just past halfway and finished a disappointing 20th. Crash issues also derailed him at San Mateo, where a late incident left him 23rd.
Pombo's best race, in fact, would come in 1960, when he competed at Sacramento. Starting 12th in the field of twenty-three, Pombo only completed half of the race but drove home with a career-best 16th place showing.
