The 2008 Mohegan Sun NASCAR Camping World Series 200 was a Camping World East Series event held at Lime Rock Park on August 16, 2008. Matt Kobyluck hit the jackpot at his best racetrack, leading the most laps, picking up his third straight series victory, and continuing his mid-summer hot streak that left him head and tails ahead of the rest in the points chase. Marc Davis, who almost won the Watkins Glen event, was the runner-up while Peyton Sellers had a great third place showing. With four races to go, Kobyluck held a 135-point championship lead on Trevor Bayne.

[edit] NASCAR PR Recap

LAKEVILLE, Conn. – Matt Kobyluck arrived at Lime Rock Park for the Mohegan Sun 200 Saturday afternoon carrying the NASCAR Camping World Series East points lead for the first time in two years. He added to that lead by posting his third staight win to more than double his lead. It was Kobyluck's fourth victory overall on the season.

Kobyluck led 41 of 82 laps in the No. 40 Mohegan Sun Chevrolet, and relaxed during a 75-minute rain delay 51 laps into the event.

“We have a really good package here,” said Kobyluck, who never relinquished the lead once the race resumed. "Once you find the total car package – the springs, the shocks, the brakes and all those things – it builds confidence. You look forward to it on the schedule.”

It was Kobyluck's third win at Lime Rock in the past four years and gave him a sweep of the series' road-course events. Kobyluck won earlier this season at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) International.

Marc Davis (No.18 Slim Jim Toyota) matched his career best finish of second place Saturday, followed by Peyton Sellers (No. 44 Red Line Oil Chevrolet), Jesus Hernandez (No. 11 Dale Earnhardt, Inc. Chevrolet) and two-time series champion Mike Olsen (No. 61 Jack’s Auto Service Chevrolet.)

Completing the top-10 were Eric Curran, Steve Park, Max Dumarey, Jeff Anton, and Alex Kennedy.

Trevor Bayne finished 17th and Austin Dillon 21st, allowing Kobyluck to push his points lead to 135 over Bayne and 157 over Dillon with four races remaining.
