The 2007 Food City 500 was a Nextel Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Bristol Motor Speedway on March 25, 2007. Kyle Busch won the first ever event for the Car of Tomorrow, holding off Jeff Burton in a thrilling green-white-checkered finish. Polesitter Jeff Gordon made a thrilling late rally to 3rd and took the points lead (first time since February 2005) by three markers on Burton.

Jeff Gordon was the winner of the first Car of Tomorrow pole, clocking in at 125.453 mph. Kasey Kahne sat on the front row with him, while eventual winner Kyle Busch started twentieth.
The following drivers failed to qualify for the race: Kevin Lepage (#34), David Reutimann (#00), Michael Waltrip (#55), Joe Nemechek (#13), Johnny Sauter (#70), and Paul Menard (#15)
