2007 Aaron's 499
From The Third Turn, a Wikia wiki
The 2007 Aaron's 499 was a Nextel Cup (now Sprint Cup) event held at Talladega Superspeedway on April 29, 2007. Jeff Gordon won his second straight race from the pole, leading the most laps and holding off teammate Jimmie Johnson as the race ended under caution. Gordon's victory was his 77th, breaking a tie with Dale Earnhardt for the most wins on Earnhardt's birthday. That caused a near riot as fans pegged Gordon's car with beer cans in a shameful display of anger. Gordon now held a massive 203-point championship lead on Jeff Burton (34th). Stats
