2001 Winston Cup Season was the fifty-second NASCAR Cup season began with the Daytona 500 on February 18 at Daytona and ended with the New Hampshire 300 on November 23 at New Hampshire International Speedway. Jeff Gordon won the championship with 5112 points. This was the last of season for legendary driver Dale Earnhardt who crashed during the Daytona 500.
