2001 South Boston 200
From The Third Turn, a Wikia wiki
The 2001 South Boston 200 was a Featherlite Modified Tour (now Whelen Modified Tour) event held at South Boston Speedway on March 11, 2001. It was the season opener and certainly a preview of the championship battle to come. Defending champ Jerry Marquis won the race, nudging Mike Stefanik on a green-white-checkered. But it was Stefanik who would actually win the 2001 championship, barely edging Marquis.

Mike Ewanitsko won the pole for the race and would lead the field down to the green flag with Mike Stefanik to his outside. Eventual winner Jerry Marquis was forced to start in 12th position.
