The 2000 World Series presented by Xtramart was a Featherlite Modified Series (now Whelen Modified Tour) event held at Thompson International Speedway on October 15, 2000. It was the season finale. Tommy Cravenho, Jr. won his third and final career series race, holding off Mike Stefanik by just .08 seconds. With his 5th place run, Jerry Marquis claimed his only series title by just 36 markers over Reggie Ruggiero (12th).

Mike Ewanitsko won the pole for the race, turning in a speed of 116.635 mph. The top-six drivers redrew for starting position, and Ewanitsko continued his luck by redrawing first. On the outside of the front row would start Kirk Alexander. Eventual race winner Tommy Cravenho, Jr. would have to come all the way from 30th.

A, simply put, huge field showed up for this race. Sixty-two machines made qualifying attempts. After factoring in provisionals, 28 non-qualifiers were entered into a "Last Chance" qualifying race. Bo Gunning held off Tony Ferrante, Jr. in that shootout, allowing only those two drivers to transfer in. The rest of the drivers who failed to qualify, in order of lineup in the qualifier race were:
