The 1988 Redwood Acres Raceway 100 was a Southwest Tour event held at Redwood Acres Raceway on July 31, 1988. It was the inaugural Southwest Tour event held at the facility. Chase lead the starting portion of the race, while Pederson led the middle portion. Chase regained the lead in the waining stages of the event for the victory.
Local driver Jim Walker won the four-lap trophy dash over Jim Thirkettle, Troy Beebe and Roman Calczynski. Another local hero, Angelo Marcelli won the first heat over David Jansen and Paul Dorrity, Jr. Rob Hansen continued the trend of local winners with a victory in the second heat race ahead of Rick Schultz and Mike Hood. Hornaday took the third heat over Chase and Pederson.
24 cars started the event. Fast qualifier Calczynski was relegated to the 10th starting position due to the inversion rule. This allowed Hornaday to start on the pole with Chase on his outside.
