The 1985 World Series was a Winston Modified Tour (now known as the Whelen Modified Tour) event held at Thompson International Speedway on October 20, 1985. George Kent won his second and final race of the year, holding off Mike McLaughlin. Richie Evans, meanwhile, locked up the championship with his sixth place finish. Tragically, it would be the last series race he ever competed in. Doug Heveron won the pole but struggled to 28th.
